Sanctuary of Christ the King in Lisbon Portugal

Sanctuary of Christ the King in Lisbon Portugal

So you want to go visit Sanctuary of Christ the King in Lisbon, Portugal? Great, but first you have to get to Lisbon and I'll assume you probably need a hotel. Well check out part one of this post on what to do in Lisbon Portugal to discover what to do, where to eat, and where to stay!

Sanctuary of Christ the King is a Catholic monument and shrine dedicated to the scared heart of Jesus Christ. It overlooks the beautiful city of Lisbon; situated in Almada, Portugal!

I actually took an Uber from my hotel RYP Lisboa Caparica Mar Hotel in Quinta de Santo António Almada. It wasn't a very long ride; definitely udner 30 minutes. Once you get there you'll be at the parking lot in front on the main gift shop! That's clearly the place to buy a souvenir if you're into that sort of thing ;).

From the souvenir shop if you go straight you'll be right in front of the statue entrance. If you then hang a right and go straight you'll be at the cliff overlooking the 25 de Abril Bridge. The perfect place to snap some pics!

Speaking of great pics of the 25 de Abril Bridge I'll include mine below!

Obviously I had to include proof I was actually here via selfie ;)

Below are a couple other pics I snapped of the actual monument.

Well now it's time to go inside. Below are pics from inside the monument.

Now it's time to go up the elevator to enjoy the view from top of the monument; and obviously snap some pics which I'll gladly include below for your enjoyment!

Well that's it folks for my little tour of Sanctuary of Christ the King. If you missed my first post on 'What to do in Lisbon' check it out here!

Part 3: Visit to Lisbon Cathedral coming soon...

Peace and Happy travels,
